I’ve been thinking a lot about Christian rap and urban gospel, especially in Ghana, and comparing it to what DC3 and his team are doing in the UK. Honestly, the difference is not just talent it’s intention, opportunity, platform, and support.

DC3 is good at what he does, no doubt. But beyond the talent, he has learned a lot, positioned himself well, and people saw potential in a young person and decided to support him, push him, and give him real opportunities to even win a MOBO award. Now he is also bringing his people up with him, like Thiago, so he’s not the only one at the top. That’s how you build a movement, not just a moment.
Ghana Urban Gospel community, unity is very important and very necessary if we want to make a global impact. We cannot do this individually and expect the culture to grow. We have to support each other, push each other, and build together.
We also need to invest in knowledge, not just talent. We must learn branding, marketing, performance, visuals, networking, and how to project what we do to the world. Talent alone is not enough anymore.

At the same time, we need the support of the seniors and the people already in the industry. This is just life you can’t call someone your boy or your guy when you played no role in their elevation. Let’s be intentional about supporting the people coming up.
A few things we should all remember:
1. Let’s invest in knowledge that can polish our craft.
2. Let’s support ourselves genuinely.
3. Let’s not sleep on quality music and quality visuals.
4. Our seniors should not always take the “do it, let’s see” approach but give real opportunities to people who deserve the push.
5. Let’s not forget the God factor in all this. Yes, we want to grow and go global, but we must build a real relationship with God because ultimately, it is His blessing that makes room for us.
We can build something powerful if we move internationally, together.
I am RUSH THE HIGH PRIEST, and as an urban gospel artist whose been doing this for the longest, I have been in certain rooms and have had conversations that could have turned things around. In this ministry, I have observed that myself and my colleagues need to put in more which will eventually bring the success that we deserve.
I have seen the possibilities and they outweigh the impossibilities, let’s work hard and with God we will get there.
