ACCRA, GHANA – August 5, 2026 — Independent Ghanaian recording artist, producer, and DJ Augustt Lyte has officially announced his upcoming EP, Outta Darkness, scheduled for global release across all major music streaming platforms on Wednesday, August 19, 2026. The project is currently available for pre-save.
Shattering conventional genre boundaries, Outta Darkness weaves together elements of Afrorap, Afro-Gospel, and Christian Hip-Hop/Rap. Conceptually structured as a single continuous narrative, the 6-track EP reads like a complete sentence: “Introducing the illegitimate child pulled outta darkness into your light, glory to Jesus.”
The project begins with a vulnerable audio dialogue between Augustt’s 10-year-old self in 2002 and his present-day adult self. It confronts real-life struggles—including the painful loss of his mother in 2008, running away to Togo, surviving years as a truant, and working through dark spaces in the nightlife industry—before documenting his transformative encounter with faith and purpose.
Entirely written and executive produced by Augustt Lyte, the EP’s sonic landscape ranges from reflective spoken-word skits to sweeping cinematic ballads and high-energy Amapiano dance tracks. Select instrumentals feature co-production by Dominic Bulley (D-Mag), brother of renowned music producer Magnombeats, along with feature vocal contributions from close personal friends.
“This project is my raw, unfiltered testimony,” says Augustt Lyte. “I wanted to be completely honest about where I started—the loss, the running, and the years spent searching in the dark—to show that no shadow is too deep for grace to reach. Moving from feeling like an illegitimate child lost in the world to now guiding others toward the True Light is something only God could have orchestrated.”
